Single Trip Travel Insurance
Single
trip travel insurance is what most people who travel occasionally
use. The frequency of use might be once or twice a year for
an annual holiday, or a weekend away.
Most UK insurers offer single trip travel insurance policies
as well as annual multi-trip cover. If cover is only required
for one holiday it is worth checking what is covered by your
quote. Some providers sometimes try to sell you a more expensive
annual policy.
However annual cover is sometimes well worth considering if
you can get the right policy. The difference in price is not
usually as much as you might think and if you take more than
one trip in a year it can work out much cheaper.
The levels of cover provided by policies varies between insurers.
If you shop around you should be able to find the cover you
need at the right price. It is worth considering that most
insurers limit the amount of cover they'll provide for a single
trip normally about 90 days, but always check you policy wording.
If you are going to be away for more than 90 days it is worth
loking into the various long stay policies that are available.
When you are checking the policy wording of a prospective
policy make sure you check what activities are covered and
what is excluded.
If you're planning on sitting on a beach levels of cover might
not seem like a big deal. But if you're planning to try the
various activities that may be on offer from water sports
on you summer holiday to skiing or snowboarding on a winter
holiday you should check your cover. Some insurers include
winter sports cover, but for others you have to pay extra.
It's always better to check before you go on holiday.
