Annual
trip travel insurance doesn't actually provide a whole year
of continuous cover. If this is what you need you should consider
long stay or backpackers policies. Annual multi trip travel
insurance policies do offer a policy whitch offers cover for
more than one holiday over the course of a year.
There's usually a limit on the number of days you can be away
on each trip, but it can vary so make sure you check the policy
wording. Some annual-policies only offer a certain number
of days of cover per year, for example up to 120 days per
policy term for example.
Compared
to the cost and time it takes to get single-trip cover every
time you are going on holiday there are real savings to
be made if you opt for annual-cover. As is always the case
there are some draw backs to this type of policy. Some annual-policies
wont provide cover for hazardous activities, if this is
the purpose of your holiday, you might have to purchase
a separate policy.
Business trips can also be excluded even if you are not
carrying business equipment such as a laptop computer Be
aware that once purchased it is not normally possible to
upgrade cover outside the standard insurance policy ""Cooling
off" period. So if you buy an annual european travel
insurance policy then find a cheap flight to america you
will need to buy another policy to cover you American holiday.
